Did you know the
name of the two
traditional bridal
marches?  Well, the
bride walks down
the aisle to the
classical "Bridal
Chorus" from
Richard Wagner's
1848 opera
"Lohengrin" and
the Bride and
Groom exit to the
music of the
"Wedding March"
from Felix
Mendelssohn's "
A Midsummer Night's Dream".

What is a "Wedding Officiant"?
Well, simply put, an officiant is the person who conducts the ceremony and pronounces the couple "husband and wife".  The officiant is not a wedding planner, but does help you plan the content of the actual ceremony...vows, whether there will be a ring ceremony, rose or candle ceremony and whatever else you want your ceremony to contain..  As an officiant, I'll write a ceremony customized to your desires, make sure your license and witnesses are in order and will be responsible for getting your papers to the county clerk afterwards.  And I'm very affordable.
E-MAIL me for more information or let's talk on the phone (Please leave a contact number).
Did you know?

The first known white wedding dress
(in the western world)
was worn by
Anne of Brittany
in 1499.

Later in the mid 19th century,
Queen Victoria
helped make the custom even more popular
Some years ago, in trying to explain to my young son what the duties of a parent are, one of the things I said was "to create good memories for when you're older".  Well, that's exactly what I feel I'm doing by being a wedding officiant.  I hope to help in building good memories for the couples I marry.  And though I want this website to be professional looking and extensive, I'm really just one person doing something I believe to be important.  This is not a company, an organization, a group of people or Church.  Just me.  And if you choose me to officiate your wedding, I promise you'll get my personal, caring attention to make sure you'll have a wonderful memory for the future.

Just for fun I've gathered an extensive list of customs, folklore, legends and history relating to love and marriage.  Click on the link below and enjoy exploring the beautiful, sometimes nutty past of wedding traditions.

Thanks go to the producers of
"Dharma & Greg" on ABC
for requesting "The Marrying Guy"
to stand as the officiant for Kitty (Susan Sullivan) and Edward's (Mitch Ryan) vow renewals on an episode
that aired in April.  I had a great time! And thanks also to Jenna Elfman and Thomas Gibson  for being
so nice.

Those were the words that were painted on a sign that once hung outside my Grandfather's one room court-house in Sutherland Springs, Texas for well over half a century.  Of course, it once read "Two CAN live as cheap as one" back in the 1930's and 40's, but grandpa had to change it in the 1960's as the world changed. Now I don't know which phrase would apply. You be the judge.

Anyway, during my vacations, when I stayed on my grandparent's farm, many a time I was dragged out of bed to witness a couple getting married at 3 o'clock in the morning.  It seems my grandpa's place had a reputation as being the place to stop in the San Antonio area when you eloped...or maybe it was just that he was the only Justice of the Peace anywhere between San Antonio and Houston with a courthouse right on the highway (A little one room shack actually).

Well, I guess the memory of all those wedding ceremonies got to me and I've set myself up in the marrying business.  Yep, I'll drive on over and legally marry you and your soon to be spouse. In a civil, secular (non-religious) or non-secular (non-denominational, religious) ceremony. If you have a license, picture identification and two witnesses on hand.

And I'll be happy to help you as much as I can, although remember, I'm not a wedding planner.  (However, a lot of your questions might be answered on this website).  It's your wedding and I'll do my part, as best I can, to make it what you dreamed it would be.  From a simple, basic ceremony to a large wedding with a custom written, beautiful and touching set of vows. I aim to please.

So, check out this website for information on the "how to" of getting married and if you get to the point of needing me to officiate.....please e-mail me. (And don't forget to leave your contact number so we can chat...with no obligation).

HAVE A WONDERFUL WEDDING AND I HOPE YOU CHOOSE THE "MARRYING GUY" TO OFFICIATE YOUR WEDDING CEREMONY!
