Blind Date Wedding on the Rick Dees Show on KISS-FM

"THE MARRYING GUY"®, KIIS-FM AND RICK DEES PRESENT THE"BLIND DATE" WEDDING
Yep, on February 14, 2003 two aspiring actors hoping for a boost to their careers agreed to get married on the air and in front of the television cameras having never seen one another. Brought together on the Rick Dees show on KIIS-FM in Los Angeles, the couple never saw each other until the moment they walked down the aisle. Below are some pictures of many of the celebrities that attended, the moments leading up to the nupials and the ceremony itself.

GETTING THE LICENSE
Ok, here you go. How do you obtain a marriage license for a couple who must appear together but cannot see each other? Well, Katie Kelly and Vincent Thompson (our "blind date wedding" couple) had to be blind-folded and led to the window. They were together, but were not allowed to see each other. When it came time to check their identification, one of them was led into another room so the other could remove their beanies.

Vicent had already arrived when we got to the Clerk's office and was in a room off the lobby. The first picture is of "Poorman" from KIIS leading Katie into the Building. On the right is one of our helpers escorting Katie to the window.

Louie Anderson, who "objected" when I asked if there would be anyone who had reason the couple should not be joined in matrimony. Asked why he objected, he replied "because I always wanted to do that."

UPDATE
As we all suspected
they would, Katie
and Vince started the proceedures for an annulment just a little over a week after
the wedding.
They both received
a fantastic amount
of press attention from this publicity event and we all wish them the best
as they pursue their separate
acting careers!
